AD makes KY look great
If I’m honest, I can’t say that I knew much about KY before I started working as KY’s Art Director. I hadn’t studied at Business School or even at Aalto University. I found this job at te-palvelut.fi and decided to apply, as the job description seemed very interesting for me. Last August I arrived to Espilä office for the first time and it really was the beginning of an adventure full of surprises and interesting projects.
Now I have been working at KY already for nine months, which feels weird as the time has passed so fast. During this time, I have learned a lot about KY, its history and the people who work for it. I have been working on three Kylteri magazines, Career Catalogue 2017 -publication, several event visualizations, logos, photoshoots and many other projects. It is also cool to say that I have had the opportunity to teach photography, Photoshop and Illustrator to KY volunteers.
Art Director makes KY more beautiful in print and digital media. My work consists mainly of graphic design, but also includes periodically photoshoots, meetings and website maintenance. AD’s job is very independent, but in many projects I work together with KY volunteers and the people at our office. AD’s most important co-workers are the people in KY’s communications sector and the editor-in-chief of Kylteri magazine.
KY is really cool, surprising and motivating place to work at. We have a great group of people with amazing team spirit and we spend time with each other outside of work too. For example, this week we went to air yoga together, had an Easter brunch and tomorrow we’ll go bouncing in a trampoline park. I wouldn’t describe KY as a typical work environment. There aren’t two days alike, which is simply amazing!
