KY Acknowledgements

Community badge (yhteisömerkki)

The community badge is granted to a current member of the association who has held positions of responsibility at KY or KY associations during their studies. It is awarded purely by collected points. To receive the community badge you need 2,5 points.

Activity badge (aktiivimerkki)

The activity badge is granted to a current member of the association who has been active at KY or KY associations during their studies. It is awarded purely by collected points. To receive the activity badge you need 3,5 points. If you receive an activity badge after receiving the community badge, it will replace the latter.

 

The points for both badges are calculated in the following manner: 

1,5 points: KY office, active members of the Representative Council, the chairman of Kylterirengas, sub-committee boards, committee members, Probba board + the chairmen of project teams, subject clubs and clubs

1 point: tutors, active members of sub-committees, the editorial staff of Kylteri, subject clubs, active club members and project teams

In 2017, tutoring and the editorial staff of Kylteri were included for the first time. Beginning from 2018 also activity in clubs will be included. Because of the demanding nature of data collecting, the information is not collected retroactively.

Badge of dedication (harrastusmerkki)

The badge of dedication is granted by the KY Board to a current or former member of the association who has held multiple positions of large responsibility at KY or KY associations during their studies over multiple years.
Badge of dedication is granted to people who already hold an activity badge and have shown excellent quality of work during their activities.

Badge of merit (ansiomerkki)

Badge of merit is granted by the Representative Council to a current or former member of the association who has held positions of large responsibility at KY or KY associations after receiving the badge of dedication.
Badge of merit is granted to people who already hold a badge of dedication and have shown excellent quality of work for a fairly long time.

Badge of honour (kunniamerkki)

Badge of honour is granted by the Representative Council after consulting the KY Honorary Delegation. Badge of honour is granted to KY’s honorary members, but can also be granted as a special acknowledgement for current or former members of the associations who have shown tremendous and long-term work in favour of the association after receiving the badge of merit.

Bronze shield (pronssinen kunniakilpi)

Bronze shield replaces the Kylteri Deed of the Year (vuoden kylteriteko) and awards active communities with yearly alternating criteria. The recipient of the Bronze Shield has worked exceptionally for the community. The shield will remain in KY’s possession.
